A British TV program hired digital artists to give modern makeovers to historical figures including Queen Elizabeth 1, King Henry VIII and William Shakespeare. Producers of the UKTV Yesterday channel program -- "The Secret Life Of..." -- said digital artists spent months working with a historian to determine how the historical figures would likely look if they lived today, The Sun reported Thursday. The TV show, which is set to start featuring the makeovers Thursday night, said it based the modern version of King Henry VIII's "vain and lavish" fashion was based in part on TV personality Simon Cowell, while William Shakespeare's look features a tousled haircut and earring in the hipster style. Queen Elizabeth I traded her royal gowns in for a power suit. Other historical figures featured by the program include Marie Antoinette and Adm. Horatio Nelson.
