A cultural event called “Cultural Melodies” was held on Thursday night at Riyadh-based King Fahd Cultural Center, featuring a jazz gig attended by women as well as men, seated in a separate section.
The free event included various treats that attracted a large number of music, poetry and art lovers in the Kingdom.
Singers and poets like Rami Abdullah, Nayef Al-Faisal, Faisal Saud, Mohanad Al-Saleh and Abdulaziz Abdullah took part in the event, which also included an exhibition by artist Al-Anoud Al-Jarallah.
Cultural Melodies precedes a highly anticipated concert by Rabeh Saqr, Khaled Abdulrahman and Majed Madany, to be held in Riyadh on Feb. 4.
Social media was abuzz with comments about the event, which was met with both approval and criticism by commentators.
Videos and photos shared on different social media showed a large number of attendees of different ages and genders enjoying the event.
