In opposition to turning cyberspace into a battlefield, China called for Internet rules and cooperation.“China has always urged the international community to build a peaceful, secure, open and cooperative cyberspace and opposed turning it into a new battlefield,” China’s Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying said at a daily press briefing.Hua made the remarks when asked to comment on Internet security, according to China’s (Xinhua) News Agency.“In terms of Internet security, China is vulnerable and one of the most seriously attacked victims,” Hua said.She said the Chinese government places great importance on Internet security and opposes and cracks down on cyber crimes in accordance with the law.“Cyberspace needs rules and cooperation, not wars,” Hua said.China would like to work with the international community to jointly safeguard the peace, security and openness of the Internet, Hua said.
