“Discover Oman’s Beauty” campaign brought in 5,500 bookings in Oman within 20 weeks of its launch, according to a presentation made at Get Connected, a forum held to boost tourism in Oman.
“Discover Oman’s Beauty” was one of the most important promotional campaigns conducted by the Ministry of Tourism last year and brought in OMR500,000 from hotel establishments.
During a presentation, the ministry revealed that it aims to attract private sector investments of OMR 1.8 billion, as well as increase added value in the tourism sector to OMR 1 billion.
Last week, Ahmed bin Nasser bin Hamad Al Mehrzi, Minister of Tourism, had told Times of Oman that OMR60 million has already been set aside for tourism projects.
The minister had said that the funds were released to diversify Oman’s economy as part of Vision 2040, the government drive to rid Oman of its dependency on oil revenue.
