The Egyptian Foreign Ministry has changed its facebook profile picture with a logo of "Egypt's Gift to the World..Long Live Egypt...New Suez Canal" as part of its celebration with the inauguration of the new Suez Canal, set for Thursday, in a glamorous ceremony to be attended by a galaxy of world leaders.
The change in the ministry's profile picture is to remind the world that Egypt's achievement of digging the new waterway in a brief time serves the interests of the whole world and not only Egypt.
The ministry was keen to send three messages from its logo; the first is that Egyptians are capable of achieving any achievement with their strong will and resolve, while the second is the Egyptians' gift to the world and third message is that Egypt is able to stand up to any challenges it faces.
The new picture depicts an image of the new waterway with a cargo vessel crossing, while it was subtitled with a pledge of loyalty to the nation.
