The Bahrain Meteorological Directorate (BMD) has recently developed its official website: www.bahrainweather.gov.bh
The BMD's Director Adel Daham said this latest development was part of the overall developmental vision of the Ministry of Transport (MOT) and plans aimed to develop the meteorological service in Bahrain.
Daham said that the enhanced website provides weather forecasts, satellite and radar images as well as seismic reports. The website also includes useful information for aviation and maritime users. Work is now underway to develop an iOS and Android App for smartphones for easily accessible live weather reports to ensure the safety of citizens, he added.
He said that the website contributes to precautionary measures aimed to cope with climatic upheavals and any consequential natural disasters. The website provides warnings, predictions, data and basic scientific information about the weather and climate, he concluded his statement.
