Katie Couric's publicist has denied media reports claiming the veteran broadcast journalist is looking to return to NBC now that Andrew Lack will be heading up the network's NBC News and MSNBC divisions.
"Katie has a longstanding friendship with Andy and has great respect for him and her former NBC colleagues. She wishes them all great success going forward, but she remains excited and focused on working with her team at Yahoo on her many interviews and projects," Couric's representative told The New York Post.
Lack ran NBC's news division for eight years until 2001. Couric was a permanent co-anchor on the network's Today show from 1991 to 2006. She anchored the CBS Evening News from 2006-11 and is now the global news anchor for Yahoo.
