In November of last year Netflix announced it would be turning Gothic children's story A Series of Unfortunate Events into a Netflix Original series.
The book series, which follows the misfortune of the Baudelaire orphans, was adapted into a film starring Jim Carrey in 2004. The film followed the events of the first book and while no other films followed many fans waited for more.
Up until recently Netflix has been silent about the original series, till a fan made trailer made its way onto YouTube on Sunday. Entertainment Weekly reports Netflix had nothing to do with the trailer, which made the rounds on Sunday evening.
Variety reports the trailer came from YouTube user "Eleanora Poe," and had 700,000 views on Sunday night. According to Variety, the user seemed to have used footage from the 2004 film and music from The Dresden Dolls, a Boston-based "punk cabaret" duo.
The streaming giant didn't say if they would pull down the trailer or anything more about the upcoming series.
