German pay-TV broadcaster Sky Deutschland will add documentaries to its "catch up TV" service Sky Anytime. The new genre will complement the existing line-up of movies, series, sports and shows from 14 February 2012. The documentaries, which are provided by broadcasters Nat Geo Wild, National Geographic Channel, Spiegel Geschichte, Discovery Channel and Motorvision TV, can be watched in full length one day after their initial broadcast on television. Sky Anytime enables the owners of HD PVR Sky+ to watch selected programmes up to seven days after their TV broadcast without additional charge. The content is sent into set-top-boxes' hard-disks overnight via cable or satellite to provide viewers with new material each day. An internet connection is not required.
