The government outlined three resolutions of combined approaches to build an ecosystem to make Malaysia an innovation nation. Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said they include human capital development, especially how to inject more innovative thinking and creativity in the education system. \"We will see in terms of funding to support the innovation efforts, such as increasing the participation of private equity capital,\" he said after chairing the first meeting of Malaysia Innovation Agency at his office here Tuesday. Najib said the government will also identify research and development (R&D) projects that can be commercialised. \"For example, our universities have about 1,000 intellectual properties. We will see how many can be translated into commercial projects. \"The meeting decided to combine approaches to develop the ecosystem in addition to the outcome base to identify projects that can be commercialised,\" he added.
