A five year-old boy has died in a playground accident at a school in south-west London. It is thought he fell off a climbing frame at Tolworth Infant & Nursery School at lunchtime on Thursday. In a statement on the school\'s website, the head teacher said her thoughts and sympathy were with the child\'s family. The school was due to open as normal on Friday. Police are treating the death as unexplained and have started an investigation. Tragic accident When the emergency services arrived the boy was described as being \"unconscious but not breathing\". He was taken to hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival. Head teacher Rachel Nye said: \"It is with the deepest sadness that I have to inform parents and carers that a tragic accident occurred in the playground at lunchtime. \"I know that all our thoughts and sympathy will be with the child\'s family. \"Children\'s wellbeing is paramount at Tolworth Infant and Nursery School and it is in their best interest that our school is open as usual. \"Staff have planned how they will support children and families and there will be additional adults in school.\" The Health and Safety Executive has been informed.
