Fifty Egyptian students in different academic stages will undergo exams of the “sons of the Egyptian expatriates for 2015” at the cultural office of the Egyptian embassy in China.
The turnout in this year’s exams, which started April 4 and will run for 10 days, is better than before, Egyptian cultural adviser China Hussein Ibrahim told MENA Thursday.
The Egyptian Education Ministry allowed the students of all the Arab communities in China to be tested in the Egyptian curricula, Ibrahim said.
This unprecedented step is due to the conditions taking place in some Arab states and comes as an Egyptian contribution to the Arab communities here, he added.
The exam papers will be marked in Egypt, he said.
In a meeting with MENA, some of the parents of the students called for establishing Egyptian schools in the cities where Egyptians or Arabs live like Beijing, Shanghai and Ewu to link them with the Egyptian culture and community to maintain their Arab identity.
