The Hariri Foundation for Sustainable Human Development organized for the fifth year the annual competition for Salim Ghazal award, the Bishop of "dialogue and national peace", in Dar al Inaya in Sidon's Salihiye.
Over three hundred students from thirty-four public and private schools as well as UNRWA schools participated in the event, which was attended by Information Minister, Melhem Riachy, and MP Bahia Hariri.
Hariri gave a word on the occasion stressing that the event renewed commitment to dialogue, compassion and forgiveness, "these values which were embodied by Bishop Salim Ghazal during his career."
"We meet today to accompany our daughters and sons as they express their talents and creativity, which comprise our true national wealth," said Hariri.
"There is no dialogue or stability unless we protect these talents and motivate them."
Hariri welcomed the presence of Riachy in the event and urged for further media attention for these events.
Minister Riachy, in turn, recalled his first meeting with Bishop Ghazal, who taught him how to be open to the other and respect the other, regardless of differences, in order to reach fruitful results.
"You cannot accept the other without dialogue. Ignorance is the arch nemesis of human evolution."
Riachy saluted the souls of great men, such as the late Bishop and martyr Rafik Hariri, and vowed that his ministry would publish all publications sponsored by Dar al Inaya, especially those of the Hariri Foundation.
