The Higher Education Ministry forbids undergraduates from any higher learning institutions in the country from being involved in illegal assemblies, said its Deputy Minister Datuk Dr Hou Kok Chung. He said the ministry had issued a strong warning to the students not to attend an illegal street demonstration planned for Julu 9 in the federal capital as it was against the Universities and Universities Colleges Act (UUCA). \"Undergraduates who are involved in the illegal assembly will have to bear the consequences,\" Hou told reporters here Monday. He advised all undergraduates in the country not to be involved since the assembly would be of no benefit to the nation. \"The police have issued a stern warning for us not to get involved and we should obey their order,\" he added.
