Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research ,Hisham Sharaf discussed in Riyadh on Friday with Moroccan Minister Delegate to Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Soumia Benkhaldoun aspects of cooperation between the two countries. At the meeting held on sidelines of the 14th conference of Arab Ministers of Higher Education, which was concluded in Riyadh on Thursday, the two sides reviewed areas of cooperation between Yemeni and Moroccan universities in the fields of scientific research ,academic accreditation and exchange of academic and administrative experiences as well as other relevant issues. Sharaf expressed Yemeni government’s thanks and appreciation to the King of Morocco and Moroccan government for their great support to Yemen and their keenness to enhance the prospects of cooperation between the two countries in the various fields. The minister also hailed the scholarships provided by the government of Morocco annually to the Yemeni students in the field of higher education, either under the exchange cultural scholarships or others, noting that Yemen is seeking for more support in this area to enhance the development efforts and rehabilitate human cadres to possess modern and sophisticated skills and knowledge. On the same context, Sharaf discussed ,on sideline of the conference, with Dr. Mubarak Majzoub, Secretary-General of the Federation of Arab Scientific Research Councils (FASRC), the areas of cooperation between the Ministry and the Federation. The meeting also touched on the role of the Federation in supporting the efforts of scientific research in the Arab higher education institutions ,research centers and relevant bodies and the measures made by Yemen in this field and the most important development al needs related to scientific research to keep pace with the requirements of development.
