The Arabian Gulf University (AGU)'s President Dr. Khalid bin Abdulrahman Al-Ohali praised the significant role of the King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Medical City (KAMC) in boosting the educational process in the College of Medicine and Medical Sciences.
Dr. Al-Ohali also praised the bilateral cooperation between the AGU and the KAMC in providing opportunities to teaching staffs to practise their profession, intensify training of students from the College of Medicine at the King Abdullah Medical City's Medical Centre and participation in conducting academic research, follow up surgical operations performed by teaching staff members at the AGU in addition to GCC and international experts.
Also, the Dean of the AGU's College of Medicine Dr. Khaldoon Al-Roumi said that the operating of KAMC clinics since 2012 has formed a turning point in the history of the AGU's College of Medicine, and has expanded the circle of services provided to students, including the provision of advanced technical know-how, diagnostics, training and the interaction of specialists from the various medical specialisations with students at the clinical stage which in the past years had been restricted to two key domains: medical education and medical research.
Dr. Al-Roumi added that the prestige of the College of Medicine has been boosted with the introduction of 51 clinics which gave an added value to the record of medical accomplishments in Bahrain and to GCC students studying at the AGU's College of Medicine especially with focus on non-contagious diseases such as diabetes, obesity, cancer, heart diseases, trans-continental pandemics as well as the provision of public healthcare services in several domains such as internal medicine, pediatrics and obstetrics.
