Commercialbank has welcomed fresh graduates from renowned universities across the GCC including Qatar University, Carnegie Mellon in Qatar and the American University of Sharjah to its proprietary graduate development programme at the Cb Academy. The programme has been developed to provide competency-based education with a view to promoting entrepreneurship in the GCC region and is expected to benefit those looking to jump-start their career in the banking industry. Developed by the Commercialbank Academy, the curriculum will run for three years in partnership with a UK-based graduate development specialist, Dovesnest Group. The initiative has been designed differently from conventional skills training with a more focused objective of fostering “entrepreneurialism,” promoting the benefits of working in the financial industry and gaining a solid understanding of the dynamics, structure and functions of a large organisation. The graduates will complete rotations across all the bank roles enabling them to discover their preferred area of specialisation to pursue in the future. The graduate development programme is an excellent platform for new graduates to structure and accelerate their careers. The programme comprises modules targeted to hone communication and leadership skills as well as business related proficiency with organised work experience. The fresh graduates will spend initial weeks at Commercialbank’s new Training Academy, and attend the College of North Atlantic, Qatar. Commercialbank Group CEO Andrew Stevens said: “We are particularly proud of our investment in this programme because it emphasises our commitment to developing local talent in Qatar. We are committed to generating human and intellectual capital in the region and especially in creating a robust talent and knowledge pool within the youth community in Qatar. “We trust that by offering this all-inclusive development course, which provides high levels of technical familiarity as well as business acumen and leadership skills, Commercialbank will provide graduates with an excellent platform for what we hope will be a long and successful career in the financial sector. This is our contribution to strengthening the future of Qatar as a global financial hub.” Commercialbank is committed to playing an active role in Qatar’s future by actively supporting educational programmes, cultural projects and charitable events and activities.
