The "E'tilafeya list," which mainly groups Islamic-oriented members, has won the elections run by the National Union of Kuwait Students (NUKS) Kuwait University branch for the 36th year in a row garnering 55 percent of the votes.
The head of executive body at the union, Mohammad Al-0taibi, told KUNA that the E'tilafeya list won with total of 8,010 ballots, while "Mostaqilla" (independent) came in second, with 5,372 votes and the "Democratic Circle" third with 610 voices. The "Islamic list" came fourth with 524 votes and the "Civil List came last, 438 voices.
Al-Otaibi praised all lists and the Kuwait University management for their cooperation in making the elections a success.
He said the elections are good experience for "polishing the potentials of students.
