The German Jordanian University, in cooperation with the Institute of Shipping Economics and Logistics (ISEL), on Monday held a lecture on the gap between industrial development and academic education.The lecture introduced students to industrial advancement in Germany and the academic research conducted by the University of Bremen in cooperation with ISEL, which is considered one of the premier institutions specializing in shipping logistics in Germany.ISEL Director Hans Haasis, who is also a lecturer at the University of Bremen, made a presentation on the University of Bremen, the programs and scientific research conducted by it, and the logistic services programs executed by it.Haasis pointed out the importance of dynamism and vitality in the field of logistic services. He said that academic education has failed to keep pace with industrial development. This can be avoided by combining academic and applied education, he added.
