The library cost USD 5,000 donated by the Kuwaiti Society for Student Support (KSSS) and was developed by Taleb Elm association, a Yemeni fund-raising agency. It houses a large number of books and references as well as the state-of-the-art computers which will be very helpful for students and researchers. Assistant Undersecretary of Hadramaut Governorate for the Coastal Area Affairs Nasser Salem Belbehith expressed gratitude to Kuwait for the generous assistance to key development projects in Yemen. "The library constitutes a quantum leap in building the capacity of the university students, particularly the students of medicine and engineering faculties," he said. On his part, KSSS Secretary Talal Abdulkarim Al-Arab said his society was able to fund this year the construction of 12 libraries in Jordan, Palestine and Yemen as well as Kuwait with a view to boosting scientific research. "The Society will launch three libraries for the Syrian refugees in Jordan, " Al-Arab added.
