His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah donated USD one million to Al-Quds University as a sign of support from the State of Kuwait to the Palestinian people in their struggle.
The donation was given to the University President Dr. Imad Abu Kishk by the Kuwaiti Ambassador in Jordan Dr. Hamad Al-Duaij on Monday.
The Ambassador told KUNA that His Hihgness the Amir's gesture stems out of his belief in supporting Arab and Islamic causes and defending the sanctity of Jerusalem.
On his part, Dr. Abu Kishk expressed his appreciation to the generous donation that would help in upgrading the academic qualifications of the Palestinians, and inducing a stronger sense of patriotism in them to face their daily challenges with the Israelis.
Al-Quds University is a Palestinian university founded in 1984. It provides higher education and community services within the Jerusalem area and to the neighboring towns, villages and refugee camps in the West Bank. It has fifteen academic faculties on four campuses.
