Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab chaired on Thursday a meeting with presidents of the Egyptian universities on the sidelines of the opening of the 5th Egyptian Universities Olympics in Alexandria.
The meeting took up preparations for the coming academic year which will start on October 11.
Mahlab said that law will be strictly enforced to prevent violence inside universities' campuses.
He added that every university is committed to the safety and security of its students, faculty members and administrative staff.
In the last academic year students affiliated with the blacklisted Muslim Brotherhood staged campus protests and clashed with security forces, demanding the reinstatement of ousted president Mohamed Morsi.
