Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal on a working and inspection visit to Medea Monday, has inaugurated rectorship of new Medea University and an auditorium, built as part of the development plan of the new university centre, located in the city’s northern suburbs. Earlier, the Prime Minister visited the new university center where he followed a detailed presentation on the High Education Sector in the region, given by the Director of Housing of Public Equipments (Dlep) and Rector of Yahia Fares University of Médéa. Speaking after the presentation, Sellal insisted on the need for integrating into this campus, services and sports and leisure facilities so to optimize its functionality. He urged the sector officials to double efforts to upgrade this campus up to the level of a higher education centre of ’’excellence’’ With a capacity of 5,000 seats, the new campus is equipped with university residence for girls which currently hosts more than 2,000 female students, central restaurant of 800 seats and a library, in addition to the annexes to the rectorship.
