Sohag University President Nabil Nour Eldeen on Sunday decided to suspend study at the Upper Egyptian-located University for four days over the death of ten female students in a fatal road accident.
A well-placed official with the University underscored that the decision will come into force as of Monday until Thursday, pointing out that a committee would be formed to follow up the accident.
The suspension decision was made in the wake of students' mass demonstrations, calling for suspension of study in the University's new campus until safe roads and means of transportation are provided.
Earlier in the day, as many as ten students were killed and four others injured in a road accident in Sohag, south of Cairo.
