Zayed University's (ZU) Entrepreneur Club and business education organisation Injaz-UAE recently created the Entrepreneurship Masterclass, an initiative designed to challenge students to think about starting their own businesses. Last week, the masterclass was held with Grade nine students at Al Reem School. Sulaf Al Zu'bi, CEO of Injaz-UAE, said the organisation aimed to mould the minds of young talent as a national obligation. "We train people to create ideas, transform the ideas into concepts, implement the concept into ventures, and turn the ventures into prosperous businesses." The Masterclass aims to help students identify the key entrepreneurial attitudes and skills required in starting their own business, to understand the main issues and practicalities of running a business… how and who to approach for help and advice." Engaging youth at an early age in hands-on experience with entrepreneurship and guiding young Emiratis to move beyond regular jobs was the emphasis of the Masterclass programme. "Injaz believes entrepreneurs are made, not born. Currently, we have opportunities for funding, but the skills are lacking. At Injaz, we are the bridge between the private sector and the students," Al Zu'bi said. "I only learned — and became passionate about — the concept of entrepreneurship in my third year at university. I met inspirational entrepreneurs who influenced me significantly so I decided to launch a club to deliver the entrepreneurship concept and knowledge at ZU," Hind Al Nuaimi, founder of ZU Entrepreneur Club, told Gulf News.
