The UAE University (UAEU), and the National Media Council (NMC), have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance co-operation between the two parties in areas of mutual interest.
The MoU was signed by Mansour Ibrahim Al Mansouri, Acting Director-General of the NMC, and Dr. Ali S. Al-Kaabi, Deputy Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Enrolment at the UAEU, in the presence of Dr. Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, Vice Chancellor of the UAEU, at the university campus in Al Ain.
Al Nuaimi said, ''This co-operation aims to achieve the vision and strategy of the university through its partnerships with active national institutions and bodies to supports scientific research and innovation in the university which would contribute to supporting the progress of the country."
He added that it will also promote the university’s role in scientific research as it is a pioneering university which works effectively in partnership with a number of scientific, research and service institutions and thus achieves national goals in areas of common interest."
He also noted, "This agreement comes within the university's constant pursuance to create partnerships with specialised institutions to strengthen the capacities of its graduates and prepare them for the labour market in various sectors."
Al Mansouri said, "Co-operation with the UAEU comes in the framework of the NMC's keenness on building strategic partnerships with various national institutions, and providing all means of support to the educational sector in the country, due to the fact that the youth are the future of the country. As they were assigned to continue the process of modernisation and progress being witnessed by the UAE, one must rally all efforts and ensure integration to fulfil the aspirations of our wise leadership."
He said, "The National Media Council will contribute to provision of the necessary training for Emirati students who are interested in entering the media sector."
"We, in the NMC, reaffirm our commitment to attracting and supporting Emirati media competencies to work in this vital sector as it is a major arm which enhances the positive image of the country at all levels and events," he added.
