A student from the College of Engineering at the University of Bahrain (UoB) has designed an integrated school for teaching cooking, including a centre for raising awareness on food and nutrition.
Student Amira Abdul Ameer presented her project during the graduation projects’ exhibition, organised recently by the college, under the patronage of UoB President Dr. Ebrahim Mohammed Janahi.
She said the idea of the school stemmed from the fact that Bahrain and the region suffered from many deaths due to obesity and diseases caused bad eating habits.
She added that the projects aimed to provide a suitable environment for cooking students, and raise public awareness on the importance of healthy eating habits.
