Maharashtra government is all set to open up a new Technological University which will have all engineering colleges under this university. The university will have four divisional centers and five sub centers in different cities. The idea behind this University is to bring all the engineering colleges and institutes under one roof. The divisional centers of the new tech university will be opened in Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur and Aurangabad, the sub-divisional centers would be based in Kolhapur, Solapur, Amravati, Nanded and Jalgaon. Students will get under-graduate as well as post graduate programmes/degrees in various courses available with engineering and technological institutes across the state. According to reports, this will facilitate under graduate and post-graduation degree courses for the students in various courses available with engineering and technological institutes across the state. While the divisional centres of the new university will be opened in Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur and Aurangabad, the sub-divisional centres would be based in Kolhapur, Solapur, Amravati, Nanded and Jalgaon. The location of the university will be at Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Technological Education University premises in Lonere in Mangaon taluka of Raigad district. An amount of Rs.15 crore has been allotted to set up offices and hire premises by the state government.
