Dr. Amal Abdullah Al Qubaisi, Speaker of Federal National Council (FNC) has attended a reception to mark the official opening of the European Union (EU) Delegation to the UAE.
Present on the occasion were Dr. Sultan bin Ahmad Sultan Al Jaber, Minister of State, Federica Mogherini, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission, a number of key officials, representatives of the ministry of foreign affairs, and Arab and EU Ambassadors accredited to the UAE.
On the occasion, Dr. Al Qubaisi confirmed the importance of hosting the EU mission in the UAE to enhance bilateral relations between the two sides. She said that it will open new horizons of strategic partnership in various political, parliamentary, economic and investment fields.
She said that the UAE is a hub that connects the European countries, Middle East, Africa and South Asia. "Hosting the EU mission embodies the political and economic bonds between the two sides which would contribute to developing ties between them in particular and with the GCC in general," she noted.
Dr. Al Qubaisi stressed keenness of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, to support relations between the UAE and EU in all fields.
