Dr. Amal Abdullah Al Qubaisi, Speaker of the Federal National Council, FNC, has offered a message of appreciation and gratitude to the country’s wise leadership on behalf of the UAE’s daughters from throughout the nation, on the occasion of the Emirati Women’s Day celebrations.
In her message, Al Qubaisi said, "On this day, Emirati Women’s Day, we send to President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and their brothers, Their Highnesses the Members of the Supreme Council, Rulers of the UAE, and to the ‘Mother of the UAE,’ H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union, Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation and President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, our unreserved thanks, and we stress our deepest appreciation, loyalty, gratefulness and gratitude.
''We also renew our pledge with our wise leadership to meet their expectations and be a good role model, and to be always loyal to our leadership and the UAE, and its values and principles that we have learned and were raised on in the school of ‘Zayed the Giving,’ where we learned that nations do not advance without the efforts of its loyal children. You are the symbols of loyalty to the nation and our role models and inspiration, and the representation of our pride and glory,"she affirmed.
She explained that without the conviction of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who established the foundations of the advancement of Emirati women and created its principles, whether through the country’s constitution, which represents the main legal guarantee of women’s rights, or through his directives, policies and decisions during the early stages of the nation’s founding, and through Sheikha Fatima, who had contributed in a major way to these efforts through her partnership and her purposeful journey with the founding leader, based on her civilised method and future vision, and her leading convictions that marked her accomplishments and provided the journey of the nation’s advancement with the value and importance of the role of women in the development process, we would not have reached the stature attained by Emirati women, who reaped the fruits of unlimited support throughout the stages of the nation’s founding and their empowerment, and have become internationally recognised through their accomplishments and successes, which they achieved for their nation and all of humanity.
She said that the stage of political empowerment, which was launched by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, is moving according to calculated plans and policies, considering the cultural and developmental specifics of the country. This stage has managed to set a special example in democratic practice through the wide participation of women in the Council. Their effective role in discussions and their role in parliamentary life reflects the stature of women in the UAE and the level of their contribution to the development of the community.
"We notice on our tours and during visits of international delegations to the country that Emirati women are appreciated and admired across the world for their accomplishments in various sectors, including education and their work in leadership positions in the country. They are increasingly confident in their own abilities, and the wise leadership recognises and supports the UAE’s daughters in various fields.
"Words of appreciation are not enough to pay back our wise leadership, and the Mother of the UAE, for their help to Emirati women in different fields. We owe them for encouraging our daughters. God has given us inspirational leaders who serve as role models in our professional journey. On behalf of all the Emirati women, I thank our wise leadership and the Mother of the UAE for their support," she added.
