A five-year-old girl died in a fire at a villa in Al Warqa on Friday, Dubai police said on Saturday. Gulf News learnt that a fire broke out in a villa in Al Warqa and the Emirati girl died after she suffocated due to the thick smoke.
A Dubai Police official told Gulf News that five others were also injured in the incident.
“The fire began at 12:30pm in the two-storey villa. The girl died of suffocation and five others were injured,” the official said.
The injured, including three Emirati family members and two maids were earlier rescued before firefighters finally broght the fire under control.

She was buried in the Ghusais cemetery on Saturday. The cause of the fire was not immediately known and a forensic team is investigating the incident
