Over 20 Emirati women and productive families will showcase their creative works in an exhibition in Khalifa City on Saturday, as part of the national Emirati Women's Day celebrations on 28th August.
Khawala Al Khaledi, Head of the Event Organising Committee, stated that the 45-day exhibition, titled, "Mubdia'h" (Innovator), aims to encourage women entrepreneurs and increase their participation in, and their contributions to, various economic, trade and services activities in Abu Dhabi and the UAE in general.
''The event will provide an ideal opportunity to increase women's participation in trade and professional activities, as well as a platform for dialogue and communication between businesswomen, as they mark Emirati Women's Day. The event will also create new avenues and roles for women, to unlock their talent and realise their potential,'' she added.
The exhibition is part of the "Mubdia'h Programme," which was launched by the Abu Dhabi Businesswomen Council in 2015, to regulate the practice of female nationals in home-based trading activities in a legal manner, create a mechanism to help women running business activities from their homes, and spread awareness about the correct ways for certain categories of women, such as those in working families, divorcees, widows, female graduates and housewives, to become involved in home-based commercial businesses, to improve their financial status.
