Police in Iowa said a woman who was attacked by one of three robbers in her home used a bottle of hot sauce to fight off her attacker. Malisa Gutierrez told Des Moines police she and her boyfriend, Carlos Estrada, were sleeping shortly after 6 a.m. Tuesday when they heard a loud noise, the Des Moines Register reported Wednesday. Gutierrez said she saw three robbers, two tall men and a woman. She said the woman attacked her with a flashlight and she fought back, eventually ending up in another part of the home. Gutierrez said she grabbed a bottle of hot sauce and used it to fend the woman off until police arrived. The two male suspects escaped, but Lisa Floyd, 41, was arrested on a first-degree burglary charge and jailed in lieu of $25,000 bond.
