An Emirati woman, 29, allegedly threatened a compatriot woman of cutting her leg off if she walked past her house again, a court heard. The woman faced charges of threat, assault and insult in the Court of First Instance. The complainant, a 36-year-old housewife, said the incident happened in September last year when she was walking with her friend. As they passed by the defendant’s house, they saw her mother putting flowerpots on the pavement and they told her that it would affect the movement of pedestrians. They had a quarrel with the defendant’s mother over the issue. And the mother, the complainant alleged, accused them of breaking the flowerpots. At that point, the defendant came out of the house and yelled at them because they were shouting at her mother. But the complainant and her friend told her that her mother was the one who shouted. The defendant insulted them and threatened to cut their legs off if she saw them outside her house again. The complainant called the police alleging that the accused pushed her and was stopped when her brother stepped in between them.
