Member of Egypt's National Council for Women, Mona Omar, on Friday commended achievements made by the UAE women backed by the country's leaders and H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairperson of the General Women's Union, Supreme President of the Family Development Foundation, and Head of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood.
In a statement to WAM, she cited leading positions, higher literacy rates, improved health indicators and high performance at economic organisations.
Omar said the whole world testifies to the UAE's successful women's empowerment.
On behalf of the council, she greeted Sheikha Fatima and all women in the UAE on the occasion of Emirati Women's Day, observed every year on 28th August.
