H.H. Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), has announced her patronage of Downtown Design 2014, an international design trade fair, which will be held at the Burj Khalifa, from October 28th-31st.
Sheikha Latifa's patronage of the three-day exhibit, which is organised by Art Dubai Group, is a testament of Downtown Design's emerging role as a catalyst in the U.A.E.'s design scene, and in the region, supporting the transformation of Dubai as a design hub that will create job opportunities, and encourage new talent and entrepreneurs to explore the field.
Benedict Floyd, Co-Founder and CEO of the Art Dubai Group, said, "We are honoured to again receive the patronage of H.H. Sheikha Latifa. Through its events, the Art Dubai Group's mandate is to nurture and develop the cultural scene in Dubai and create viable business opportunities for the creative community. Downtown Design offers a platform for design brands to capture the significant real estate developments recently announced in Dubai and the region, including the preparations for Dubai Expo 2020, which is offering countless opportunities to the design industry." Cristina Romelli-Gervasoni, Downtown Design Fair Director, said, "Originality is in the quality of materials, attention to detail, superior craftsmanship and the thoughtful design that distinguishes an original piece from an imitation."
