Patients will be able to control any electric device with their tongues
Red Sea – Salah Abdel Rahman
Six Egyptian engineering students at Suez University invented a device that helps paralysed patients move. The device allows completely paralysed patients to control
any electric device using just their tongues.
The all female group of students, Amani Abdel Rahman, Athar Selim, Israa Al-Naggar, Alaa Mousa, Amira Ali, and Youssra Wahed said that a lot of devices existed to help paralysed patients but they all required the use of their heads. If a patient is paralysed because of problems in the bone marrow, it will be easier to use the tongue, the students added. They explained that the new device will include a special mechanism that will allow this to happen.
