The International Defence Exhibition and Conferences, IDEX, yesterday announced a partnership with MediaCubed LLC to develop a mobile application for the 2015 edition of IDEX. In association with the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority, ADTA, the mobile application aims to provide visitors and exhibitors with insights and information on the city of Abu Dhabi and IDEX show features.
The defence sector is one of the key pillars of Abu Dhabi's Economic Vision 2030 and IDEX is the ideal platform that provides an opportunity to showcase the growing capabilities of the defence and security industry. The mobile application further enhances the offerings at IDEX by providing a digital platform for visitors to stay abreast with the event details.
Sponsoring the mobile application is MEDIACUBED LLC. Launched in the UAE 5 years ago, MEDIACUBED has grown as a business to include four units comprising an advertising agency, a talent, casting and management agency, an email database company, and a video guide to the UAE Speaking on the partnership, Saleh Al Marzooqi, IDEX Chief Executive Officer, said, "With every edition of IDEX we aim to provide our partners and visitors with a 'never seen before' experience. The 2015 edition of IDEX is unique and special as it will see several new features and innovation from our end and our exhibitors. The launch of a mobile application as a part of IDEX is only testimonial to our commitment towards the defence industry and our stakeholder who are eager to stay well-informed about key developments at IDEX and in Abu Dhabi." Adam Ridgway, CEO MEDIACUBED, said, "Being awarded the contract by the IDEX 2015 committee is a huge honour for our team. We are building the first interactive mobile app for IDEX, hosting videos, indoor navigation and appointment management for visitors and exhibitors alike. The first of its kind to not only exhibitions but we are going to promote Abu Dhabi as a destination - we are eager to launch in January." The IDEX 2015 mobile application will include features such as the very latest indoor navigation, full 3 dimensional profiling of all exhibitors with video gallery. Exhibitors can showcase corporate profiles, products and services. Visitors and delegations will also be able to navigate their IDEX experiences with ease, make meeting requests and maximise their IDEX journeys.
The application will be available on all smartphones and can be easily downloaded from the Apple Store and android stores later in January 2015.
Over two decades since its inception, IDEX has expanded enormously and has introduced both NAVDEX, the region's largest maritime defence exhibition and UMEX, Unmanned Systems Exhibition, to take place alongside the core IDEX exhibition. This collective offering is genuinely unique and creates a compelling biennial event drawing the world's entire defence industry to Abu Dhabi.
