Iraq managed to achieve international victory, as it ranked first in Istanbul International Festival of Inventions. Chairwoman of Iraqi Inventors and innovators Association Thresa Jassem Reda said, in a statement, that Iraq managed to collect 25 medals during the second International Exhibition of Inventions held in Istanbul between March 2 to 4.
She added that Iraq won four golden medals, 5 silver medals and 14 bronze medals in addition to two other awards from World Intellectual Property Organization and International Federation of Iraqi inventors.
She added, “Such a victory provides a clear evidence that Iraq is still at the forefront of the world countries as a country of civilization despite the challenges facing the country’s scientists due to the current critical conditions witnessed in the country.”
She called the government and both governmental and non-governmental organizations for supporting the scientists, inventors and researchers. She noted that the scientific victory coincided with the consecutive military victories that the Iraqi security forces achieve against terrorism.
