With Qatar set to post one of the region’s strongest IT growth rates to 2018, the 35th GITEX Technology Week 2015 is seeing a strong presence from national industry leaders to drive ICT innovation agendas, and network with industry experts.
Thanks to large-scale infrastructure and government projects in transportation, healthcare, and education, Qatar’s IT services market growth is set to outpace that of Oman, Bahrain, and Kuwait, according to IDC. The combined IT market of those four countries is set to grow by 61 percent from USD 1.1 billion in 2014 to USD 1.82 billion.
Accessible, high-speed, and affordable broadband technology will lay the foundation of Qatar’s near future, in line with the Qatar National Vision 2030 goals to enhance the quality of life residents and the country’s diversified economy.
Qatar-based communications company Ooredoo is serving as Platinum Sponsor of the co-located GSMA Mobile 360 Series Middle East, with Jurgen Gase, Director of M2M, Ooredoo Group speaking on the topic of “Embracing the IoT Opportunity.”
“As Qatar continues to develop its diversified economy, enterprises across all sizes and verticals must be prepared to adopt the latest ICT services to deliver on the Qatar National Vision 2030 and meet customer expectations. GITEX Technology Week attendees can discover new investment opportunities in Qatar, while Qatar’s leading organizations can network and exchange knowledge on the leading innovations,” said Trixie LohMirmand, Senior Vice President, Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), organiser of GITEX Technology Week.
The leading ICT business gateway in the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia, GITEX Technology Week 2015 will feature “The Internet Future of Everything” theme. The new industry-focused GTX Communities initiative targets ICT professionals from the verticals of oil and gas, education, healthcare, retail, banking, and construction.
GITEX Technology Week 2015 is expected to welcome more than 140,000 visitors from over 140 countries including more than 20,000 C-level executives, and more than 3,500 exhibiting brands from 55 countries.
