The closing ceremony of the Second Student Nanotechnology Olympiad was held at Laleh International Hotel in Tehran on September 29 and the winners of the event were awarded.During the ceremony, Dr. Saeid Sarkar, the secretary-general of Iran Nanotechnology Initiative Council, underscored the activities of INIC in propagation of nanoscience within the country and referred to the education of the young students in this regard as a fundamental objective. In the beginning of the ceremony, Mr. Mohammad Amin Moradi, the executive director of the Olympiad, addressed the participants on the selection procedures and the results, and stated, \"This year, 45 students managed to pass the exam in a tight competition between 4,283 participants.\" \"Each of the achievers was ranked according to their scores acquired in the primary and secondary theoretical exams, simulation exam, laboratory contest, presentation of what he/she learned and summarization of his/her research into the form of a scientific article.\" At the end of the ceremony, the winners of the other contest, namely Nanotech Characterization Instruments were granted awards, too.
