Chinese telecommunication giant, Huawei on Tuesday pledged to bridge the digital divide in Zambia through technologies and solutions for telecommunication networks. "Our aim is to connect Zambia to the incredible possibilities that Huawei has developed through this international experience and research," Stanley Chyn, the company's director in Zambia said on the launch of a raodshow. Zambia's Minister of Transport, Communication, Works and Supply, Yamfwa Mukanga, said the event provides Zambia with an opportunity to learn some of the latest technology on the market. Topics in the road show include ICT solutions, soft mobile strategies, depth network optimization, LTE backhaul convergence, IP microwave, green work, smart devices and enterprise solutions. The event was also attended by Chinese Ambassador to Zambia Zhou Yuxiao, who noted the need for Zambia as well as Africa to embrace science and technology for sustained economic development.
