Assassin's Creed Rogue will not feature a multiplayer mode, the latest issue of Game Informer revealed. The magazine states that the game is being developed as a "single-player only" title, despite a competitive multiplayer option having featured in every core Assassin's Creed title since 2010's Brotherhood.
Ubisoft has yet to explain why this year's game will be missing out on an online mode.
The news follows an earlier revelation that October's next-gen Assassin’s Creed: Unity will also be skipping competitive multiplayer, instead focusing on 4-player co-op.
Assassin's Creed Rogue was announced earlier this evening for release on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 this November. The game stars Assassin-turned-Templar Shay Patrick Cormac and bridges the gap between Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag and Assassin's Creed 3 as players set sail across the North Atlantic.
