Samsung Electronics Co., the world\'s top maker of smartphones, said Tuesday it has received security approval from the British government for some of its Galaxy S4 lineup, becoming the first Korean smart device in Britain to earn the go-ahead for governmental use. With the security approval, Samsung will be allowed to make a foray into the market for the security-concerned British government. The company said that its smartphones and tablets provide increased security and manageability for IT administrators at a lower cost. According to Samsung, its mobile devices running on Android 4.2.2 or later updated versions meet the information security classification level set by the British government. In May, Samsung\'s Galaxy S4, the latest in its smartphone line-up, was also approved by Pentagon for governmental use, becoming the first Android-based smartphone to meet the security requirements. Samsung\'s mobile devices are protected with anti-virus Knox security software, which offers higher encryption and allows the separation of personal data from work data.
