Morocco’s Internet users increased by 17.9 percent in 2016 to reach 17 million people, accounting for a penetration rate of 50.4 percent, according to the country’s national telecom regulator ANRT (Agence National de Réglementation des Télécommunications).
The number of people surfing the Internet via smartphones reached 15.8 million compared to 1.23 million people favoring ADSL Internet, the Rabat-based agency pointed out in a report.
Since its launch in June 2015 and until December 31, 2016, the 4-G mobile reached close to 2.8 million customers.
