If you've been avoiding the Internet so you won't find out what happened on Game of Thrones on Sunday, there's no longer a reason to fear -- there's an app for that. Or, to be more accurate, a Google Chrome extension. Thanks to the new "Silencer" extension, you can now stop spoilers from appearing in your Twitter and Facebook feeds by blocking keywords that you don't want to see. Just type in a phrase and Silencer will block it. To make things even easier, the extension also offers "Mute Packs" for TV shows like Breaking Bad, Mad Men and Scandal. According to Silencer page: "Silencer lets you mute any content out of your Twitter stream or Facebook news feed: - Avoid spoilers from TV shows and sports events. - Mute co-workers or friends that you may not want to to unfollow. - Mute tweets about #someconference, since you're not there or not interested. - Silencer also works with any term or phrase you'd like to mute!" The extension doesn't yet work with social media sources like Instagram or Tumblr, so spoiler-avoiders will have to deal with the content on those platforms the old-fashioned way -- by simply not looking.
