Amazon says its Kindle Fire tablet is sold out, ahead of a Sept. 6 event at which it is widely expected to unveil a new version of the device. \"Kindle Fire is sold out, but we have an exciting road map ahead,\" Amazon Chief Executive Officer Jeff Bezos said in a release. The top 10 best-selling items on Amazon since Kindle Fire launched are \"Kindle devices and content,\" the on-line retailer said. While the Kindle Fire, introduced in November, is the top-seller on Amazon.com, capturing 22 percent of tablet sales in the United States, Apple\'s iPad still dominates the market with around a 60 percent share, USA Today reported. There have been reports Amazon plans three new Kindle Fire tablets to compete with the iPad and rumored iPad Mini and with tablets based on Google\'s Android mobile operating system, USA Today said. The sold-out Kindle Fire was priced at $199, while Apple\'s current iPad sells for $499.
