South Korea's No. 2 mobile carrier KT Corp. on Thursday unveiled what it claims is the industry's first IPTV set top box-embedded PC allowing users to reduce space and enjoy various multimedia contents.
Developed under collaboration with local tech firm LG Electronics Inc., the device allows users to switch from IPTV to PC by simply clicking a remote control.
KT expects the device, also developed through cooperation with U.S. Microsoft Corp. and Intel Corp., to sell around 20,000 units by the end of this year.
The new computer will come with a 27-inch full HD in-plane switching display with a Intel quad-core CPU and 128GB solid state drive (SDD).
