The economic situation of the country, the impact of the political situation on the economy and the close interaction between politics and economics were the focal points of the meeting held on Monday at Carthage by Interim President Foued Mebazaa and Governor of the Central Bank of Tunisia (BCT) Mustapha Kamel Nabli. The meeting made it possible to stress the need to secure conditions for the success of the process of political transition and raise awareness of the importance of placing the national interest above any other consideration in this stage of the history of the country, likely to avoid any economic downturn.
