The National Bank of Bahrain (NBB) announced the conclusion of its first “NBB Health Week” for staff which took place between 12 and 16 November 2017.
The main objective of the programme, which took place at the Bank’s Manama headquarters, was to promote overall wellbeing and to educate staff on the importance of living a stronger, healthier life.
The week’s activities comprised of a series of workshops, and health related campaigns aimed at equipping staff with the right methods, tools and resources to help them to improve their lifestyle and work towards more effectively meeting their weight and fitness goals. “NBB Health Week” started with a “Protect Your Heart Campaign”, an initiative organised in coordination with the Ministry of Health. The Ministry examined sugar, cholesterol, blood pressure, body mass index and waist circumference of staff.
During the week, the staff were offered a wide variety of sessions including yoga, Zumba, CrossFit training, coaching tips, in addition to lectures about the prolonged effect of long sitting, first aid, nutrition and calisthenics. “NBB Health Week” also included a two-day exhibition where health related service providers showcased their products, provided free consultations and express beauty and other therapies. The week concluded with a blood donation drive and the announcement of the “Biggest Loser Challenge,” Which was won by Jaber Mohamed Ali.
